The P1692 and P1683 do, however, share the same installation technologies, including: Integrated Concealed Crossover and Flexfit basket designs.
The P1692's mineral-filled, polypropylene injection molded cone and PEI dome tweeter provide it with a frequency response of 60Hz - 22kHz, offering a lower bass end than the P1683 while lacking its high-end response (the P1683's sports a 65Hz - 24kHz frequency response). Its Integrated Concealed Crossover design makes installation of the P1692 easier as it hides the passive crossover unit in the basket, eliminating the need to mount any black boxes. Additionally, the P1692's Flexfit basket design features screw slots rather than holes, resulting in easier speaker mounting.
