Pyle Audio PLSQ12D
$118.00
Released June, 2004
The Pros:Hits hard. Good mid level bass response. Low price.
The Cons:Can only hold around 600w NOT 1400 watts. Not great on low end response.
The Pyle Audio PLSQ12D are a pair of 12” square DVC subwoofers constructed from a special-treated silver Polypropylene cone. The second and last woofer in the Red Label series, the 1400w PLSQ12D is the only 12” square subwoofer offered by Pyle Audio, and competes with the high-powered, formidable 2400w PLCHW12 and 3200w PLD12WD.

In addition, the PLSQ12D features a wide rubber surround, a vented extended pole piece, and a 3” hi-temp Kapton dual voice coil that offers 4 Ohms of impedance per coil. The Pyle Audio PLSQ12D is priced at $117.60, a whopping $40 savings from the $162.80 PLD12WD, but a $7 increase from the $110.40 PLCHW12. The price differentiation between the PLSQ12D and PLCHW12 is partly due to the fact that the PLSQ12D has an increased sensitivity (90dB versus 85dB) and a larger voice coil (3” versus 2”).
