Pyle Audio PLG8.3

The Pyle Audio PLG8.3 are a pair of 8.0” 3-way coaxial car-audio loudspeakers constructed from a yellow colored poly injected cone. The largest model in the Pyle Audio Gear X series, the PLG8.3 offers a peak power of 400w and nominal power output of 200w, therefore making it in fact weaker than some of its smaller peers such as the PLG69.5, PLG69.8, and PLG71.4.

The PLG8.3, however, trumps all its predecessors in regards to its superior frequency of 37Hz-22kHz (versus 40/45Hz-22kHz). The PLG8.3 also features a 2.5” Polymer cone midrange (versus .5-2.0”) and a .5” Neodymium dome tweeter, but does not include the super tweeters inherent to many of its predecessors. In addition, the PLG8.3 comes equipped with custom grills, a hi-temp aluminum voice coil, an extra-resilient capacitor for improved power handling, and a non-fatiguing Butyl rubber surround designed to withstand long-term use. The Pyle Audio PLG8.3 is priced at $95, approximately $3.40 less than its superior 7” competitor, the PLG71.4.
