Pioneer TS-A6982R

The Pioneer TS-A6982R are a pair of 6” x 9” 4-way car-audio speakers built out of dual Aramid fibers and enclosed in a composite IMPP cone design. Cited as a massive, albeit expensive, upgrade from the $79.95 TS-A6962R, the $129.95 TS-A6982R supports a higher maximum power handling of 440w (versus 250w) and a lower frequency response of 25Hz-33kHz (versus 28Hz-28kHz).

Although the TS-A6982R has a smaller midrange speaker (1.8125”versus 2.25”), it includes both a .6875”film cone tweeter and a .4375”supertweeter. The TS-A6982R also comes equipped with a speaker grill, glass-imide voice coil bobbins, and a full depth basket for more rich bass responses. In addition, the Pioneer TS-A6982R offers 93db of sensitivity, rendering it (according to critics) a sensationally powerful and high-quality car-audio speaker system.
