Pioneer TS-A1672R

The Pioneer TS-A1672R are a pair of 6.5” 3-way car-audio speakers constructed out of long Aramid fiber strands into a lightweight and rigid IMPP cone design. A change in design from previous Pioneer TS A models (the Pioneer TS-A6982R, TS-A6972R, TS-A6962R, TS-A6882R, and TS-A6872R), the TS-A1672R utilizes a circular frame versus an oval silhouette.

In addition, the TS-A1672R comes equipped with a 1.3125” laminated polyester fiber balanced dome that includes a .4375” dome tweeter. Unlike previous models, the TS-A1672R also includes a shallow basket for wider installation coverage, plus a custom GM-fit basket meant for better fitting into GM oversized 6.5” applications. Although only capable of 220w of maximum power handling, the Pioneer TS-A1672R nonetheless supports 30Hz-33kHz frequency response, 90dB sensitivity, and a 4ohm rating. Priced at $79.95, the Pioneer TS-A1672R is the first in the TS A series to inclue both glass-imide voice coil bobbins and heat-resistant polyester-imide resin coated voice coil wires.
