The first thing to note about the L5 series is their square shape giving them a maximum area, which is also used by Kickers Solo X and Solo Baric L7. The L5 series inherites the technology used in the L7 series, but with improved design and a new look. Like the more advanced Solo X line, the L5 woofers use SoloKon technology, which is a rigid vacuum-formed design with vented 360-degree back bracing to push mass quantities of air. The Santoprene surround attaches the cone to the stamped-steel basket and rear foam gasket allows a secure connection to any baffle. The high-temperature dual voice coils which cover a solid heat-dispersing pole pice, and poly-cotton semi-progressive spider with perimter venting and long-lasting Spirallead tinsel leads allow the motor structure to handle high power loads. The S15L5 has a frequency response of 18-100 Hz, RMS of 750 watts and 1500 watt peak power. Available in 2 or 4 ohm versions, they can be used in either sealed or vented-box applications.
