Kicker CompVR CVR12
$180.00
Released January, 2007
The Pros:Massive bass output - frequencies are powerful yet balanced, and do not interfere with middle and high levels if paired with a quality amplifier. Most vehicles/systems will only require a single speaker - dual configurations are not recommended for public use. Phenomenal build quality and performance for the price point - on par with higher-end units from Pioneer and JB Audio.
The Cons:Does not include installation screws - most users will have to deal with the frustration of going out and finding the right parts. Not built to be used at extreme volume levels for more than 30 minutes - doing so will likely melt tinsel leads and ruin the product.
The Kicker CompVR CVR12 subwoofer is a round 12 inch unit that delivers max rec amplifier power of 800/400 (watts peak/RMS). The CVR12 is a higher end member of the series which means it takes up more space. It has a mounting depth of 6-5/16 and a mounting cutout of 11-1/8. The CVR12 has a sensitivity of 86.7 db 1w/1m, a frequency response of 25-500 Hz. The size and sound quality of the subwoofer translates into a higher price when the consumer gets to the register, so it is important to make sure that it is right fit before investing.
