It differs from its sister model, the JVC CS-SW7240, by being more powerful, smaller, and slightly more expensive. It uses dual 2 ohm voice coils and a rapid-fire impedence selector terminal that has fuse protection, a neccessary feature to increase the durability of the product. The subwoofer has a T3 Chassis that works together with heat transfer silicon to transfer the thermal energy to prevent overheating and long term damage. It uses a Kevlar Laminated HEMP Cone to enhance the sound and performance. The manufacture website does not list the JVC CS-AW8040 as having a 2 year warranty like some of the other models.
