The JL Audio 12W7 is a 12" audio subwoofer, in the W7 product series. This series provides models in 8, 10, 12 and 13 inches. The core design is consistent across the product line. The first number represents the size in inches for the surface area of the speaker.

The 12W7 offers a free air resonance of 27.2 Hz and a thermal power handling of 1,000 W. Operation over 1,000 watts is not recommended for this model and voids the warranty. To go up to 1,500 Watts, look at the 13W7 model. If you are looking for less power, look at the 10W7 model, which has an upper limit of 750 Watts. A detailed product manual is included with the subwoofer, along with a visual installation guide. Online tutorials provide step by step instructions on the wiring and installation of the subwoofer.
