Alpine SPR-17C

$180.00 Released January, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Excellent clarity in the mids and highs for this price point. Relatively short break-in period, sound improves noticeable after 10 hours. High-capacity capacitors improve filter performance and prevent burnouts common to low-end speakers.

The Cons:Larger-than-average form factor increases install time, may require some custom adjustments to mounting tabs. Do not require external amplifier, but sound quality is much better with an amp. Bass frequencies are somewhat lacking, many users will want an external subwoofer.

The Alpine SPR-17C is a set of 6-1/2”, 2-way coaxial car speakers engineered to outperform its predecessor, the SPS-600. A leap up from the past, the SPR-17C utilizes an upgraded design with better balancing & staging, an enhanced edge-wound voice coil for greater linear movement, and an ultra-low distortion magnet design for low distortion with a high tonal accuracy.
